In the ’80s, researchers discovered a protein capable of encouraging the growth of new brain cells.

They called it Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor, but most of us just refer to it as BDNF for short.

Since then we’ve seen that decreased levels of BDNF have been associated with various neurodegenerative disorders, including Alzheimer's, Parkinson's disease, Multiple Sclerosis, as well as linked to depression, eating disorders, obesity, and even suicidal behavior.
